A day in the life of…

Danny talks through his schedule with InsideSoap…

It was an early start for me this morning, as I had a slot on Radio Aire, Leeds’ local station. I was on JK and Joel’s show to talk about my nomination for this years National Television Awards. I know the guys – they’re mates, so we had a nice chat.

I only had one scene today, which was nice. It was with Adam Thomas [Adam] and Sapphire Elia [Mia] – we were out at a bar, and Aaron was giving Mia dirty looks and winding her up a bit. So nothing too full-on.

Lunchtime! I met up with Charley Webb [Debbie] and Lucy Pargeter [Chas]. We’ve got a nice canteen here at work, so we went in there for a bit of grub and a good natter.

I’m organising a charity football match, Emmerdale vs Coronation Street, in memory of our producer Gavin Blyth who sadly passed away last year. I had a meeting with a mate of mine who’s going to sponsor the whole day, so it was a very productive afternoon.

Another interview, this time on the local TV news, Calendar, to canvas for votes. I’m up for Serial Drama Performance – you can click here to vote for me!

Time for a kick about with the cast and crew from work. We’ve got our own footie team at Emmerdale, and it’s just a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. Plus, I really need to get in some practice if we’re going to beat the Street in the charity match!

The new issue of Inside Soap magazine is out now!

  1. Well he’s certainly busy.

  2. Danny is certainly not troubled by false modesty and he seems to be even better at self promotion than crying on cue.

He sounds like a politician on election day

  3. My thoughts exactly

  4. Ya know, when I look at this schedule I think: This guy isn’t busy at all. Seriously, who wouldn’t kill for this kind of routine?

    • You should see my schedule Mark!

8.30 a.m. At my desk starting my new book………..I only picked it up from the library last night

10.00 a.m. Finished work on my latest film. I’m taking it into Superdrug this afternoon to get it developed

2.30 p.m. On the way back from Superdrug a girl asks me for my autograph!. She is collecting signatures for a petition to the local council not to close the local library.

4.30 A cup of tea and a couple of chocolate digestives before my radio show, but disaster strikes. The battery has gone flat so I don’t hear this week’s edition.

      It’s all go, Mark – it’s all go! 🙂

      • Haha! Keep living that dangerous, crazy life, Alan!
