We’re delighted to announce that Danny Miller and Marc Silcock are now proud owners of an All About Soap Bubble Award.
Danny, who plays Aaron, won the much coveted Best Actor gong, while Marc came away with the Best Newcomer award.
“This is the first acting award I’ve ever won, so it means something special,” grinned Marc.
“Thank you to all the readers and viewers who voted,” exclaimed Danny. “They’re the ones who really matter.”
The dynamic duo have had a rollercoaster year, with their tender romance being a huge hit with the viewers.
Marc had this to say: “It’s fantastic that when people think of Emmerdale couples they instantly picture Aaron and Jackson – it’s a real compliment.”
“I was nervous when our producer Gavin Blyth (who sadly died, last year) told me that Jackson would end up tetraplegic. But him putting his faith in me to do it meant the world.”
Danny agreed: “Gav was such an inspiration to me, I want to dedicate this award to him, because he’s the person who created Aaron.”
A massive thank you to everyone who voted for Emmerdale in the Bubbles – the first soap awards of the year!
Soap fans voted in their thousands for the awards and the next issue of All About Soap, which goes on sale on Tuesday, will include a special free mini-magazine containing exclusive pictures and interviews with the winners.
All About Soap‘s editor Johnathon Hughes said: “We’re thrilled with the huge response to this year’s All About Soap Bubble Awards – it’s a chance for soap fans to have their say and we received more votes than ever.
“The public clearly love having Kat and Alfie back behind the bar of the Queen Vic, and despite the controversy, the baby swap story helped them to win three awards. Corrie’s epic tram crash was a hit with readers, and the ongoing stories of Aaron and Jackson in Emmerdale and Ste’s fling with Brendan in Hollyoaks also proved popular.
“The Bubbles has kicked off 2011’s soap awards season in style, and with May’s British Soap Awards just around the corner, it will be interesting to see if the results agree with what All About Soap‘s readers think!”
