The final shortlist for the viewer-voted and panel-voted categories at the British Soap Awards 2012 have been announced, with Aaron’s storyline picking up three nominations. Following the first round of viewer voting, the most popular nominees have been put through to the final stage and voting has re-opened.
After his victory at last years ceremony, Danny Miller is once again shortlisted for Best Actor alongside Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow, Coronation Street), Shane Richie (Alfie Moon, EastEnders) and Emmett J Scanlan (Brendan Brandy, Hollyoaks).
Jackson’s somewhat controversial Assisted Suicide story is nominated for Best Storyline, with competition from Carla’s Ordeal (Coronation Street), Lauren’s Murder (Doctors) and Tanya’s Cancer Diagnosis (EastEnders).
Jackson’s death episode, titled The Longest Day, is shortlisted for Best Episode, again facing competition from Coronation Street, Doctors and EastEnders.
Other Emmerdale nominees include Matthew Wolfenden for Sexiest Male, Jeff Hordley for Best Dramatic Performance and James Thornton for Best Exit.
