Emmerdale star Danny Miller has been injured in a car crash.

The 20-year-old, who plays Aaron Livesy on the soap, was involved in a traffic incident while driving down from Yorkshire to turn on Christmas lights in Reading.

Miller has been taken to hospital, but he later assured fans on Twitter that his injuries are not serious.

“Reading! I am so so sorry for not being there today,” he wrote. “Truly. From the bottom of my heart! I’ve had a check up after the bump and everything’s fine.. Bit of swelling on my knee but nothing to worry about. I’ll make it up to you somehow. I am so so sorry!!”

Snatch actor Andy Beckwith has replaced Miller at the event, according to the Reading Chronicle.

Miller announced yesterday that he will be leaving Emmerdale next year.

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has announced that he will be leaving the soap next year.

The actor, who plays troubled Aaron Livesy on the ITV1 show, will bow out from his role in spring 2012.

Miller commented: “It has been an incredibly difficult decision but after three years playing Aaron and much soul-searching, I am eager to explore other roles.

“I am so grateful to Emmerdale for the opportunity that I have been given and have loved every moment. I will miss everyone enormously but this might not be the last we see of Aaron.”

Emmerdale‘s series producer Stuart Blackburn added: “We completely respect Danny’s decision and are very grateful for the hard work and commitment he has brought to his role as Aaron. We wish him all the best for the future and in the meantime there is still plenty more drama to come from Aaron well into 2012.”

Miller made his debut on Emmerdale in 2008. The character of Aaron had previously been portrayed by Danny Webb between 2003 and 2006.

Aaron has been involved in Emmerdale‘s most high-profile storylines in the past two years, which have included his struggle to accept his sexuality, a shock train crash stunt and a controversial assisted suicide plot centring around his boyfriend Jackson Walsh (Marc Silcock).

Miller has also won a string of ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Dramatic Performance’ awards for his portrayal of Aaron.

Danny Miller was the big winner for Emmerdale at the 2011 Inside Soap Awards, picking up two gongs at the ceremony, held in London last night.

Danny retained his respective titles of ‘Best Actor’ as Aaron Livesy and ‘Best Dramatic Performance’ for his involvement in Jackson’s assisted suicide scene.

EastEnders were the big winners on the night, taking home five gongs in total including ‘Best Actress’ for Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater) and ‘Funniest Performance’ for Tameka Empson (Kim Fox). The show was also named the all important ‘Best Soap’.

Hollyoaks’ Emmett J Scanlan was named ‘Best Newcomer’ for his portrayal of bad boy Brendan Brady in the Channel 4 teen soap, while Danny Mac (Dodger Savage) collected the ‘Sexiest Male’ trophy.

Coronation Street bagged the ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award for its tram crash storyline and 50th anniversary live episode, with awards also going to Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) for ‘Sexiest Female’, and Bill Tarmey (Jack Duckworth) for ‘Best Exit’.

Elsewhere in the ceremony, Waterloo Road won ‘Best Drama’, while Home and Away was awarded ‘Best Daytime Soap’.

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has been banned from driving for six months, despite begging magistrates to let him keep his license after speeding offences.

The 20-year-old, who plays Aaron Livesy in the ITV soap, amassed 15 penalty points in just nine months after exceeding the speed limit in parts of Manchester and on the M60 motorway.

However, Miller asked Manchester Magistrates Court for a pardon on the grounds of “exceptional hardship” and claimed that a ban would hinder his charity work.

Miller – co-founder and ambassador of the children’s charity Once Upon A Smile – argued: “It will have a massive impact if I lost my licence. I have learned my lesson, I am genuinely sorry.”

According to the Manchester Evening News, bench chair Alison Edwards said when passing sentence: “You have acquired your 15 points in a very short time and not taken on board the importance of keeping to the speed limit.”

The court had earlier heard that Miller was “a very embarrassed young man” who had been given a “grilling” by his parents about his driving.

Miller was fined £800 and told to pay £35 costs. The actor’s driving ban was suspended by magistrates until an appeal is heard at Manchester Crown Court.

Monday 26th: Hazel realises that she might need a lodger as the rent for Dale Head has gone up – how will she react when Bob suggests that he could move in?

Tuesday 27th: Bob goes to see Hazel to make sure that she is clear he wants to move in just as a mate. However, Hazel tells him that she’s in a bad place at the moment. Later, Hazel shares her concerns about Bob moving in to Diane, who reassures her. Bob is thrilled when Hazel changes her mind and tells him that he can move his stuff in.

Wednesday 28th: Hazel gets a pang of guilt as Aaron watches Bob move into her house, but is unable to reach Aaron when she tries to speak to him at Jackson’s grave. Later, Hazel is worried but tries to cover it for the sake of Bob and the twins. Aaron is a little more friendly with her in the pub, but she is unconvinced that all is well.

Thursday 29th (7pm): Chas feels positive when Aaron agrees to have breakfast offered by Diane. Soon afterwards, Hazel is thrown by Aaron blowing hot and cold, but she asks him to help her in with her shopping bags. However, Aaron hates being in the house and tells Hazel that he never wants to see her again. Hazel refuses to leave Aaron and goes to talk to him at the garage, where he threatens her and smashes the wrench into the car as he begins to lose control.

Later, Aaron does not want to be questioned by Chas about the incident with Hazel. Chas goes to his room to sort things out and is taken aback to see blood on Aaron’s shirt…

Thursday 29th (8pm): Chas reels when she lifts up Aaron’s shirt and sees the cuts that he has made on his body. Shell-shocked and wanting to help, Chas calls for Paddy and can’t hold back the tears. She feels bad telling Paddy but needs his support. Later, Aaron arrives back with more blood on his shirt and tells Chas that he won’t stop self-harming. Chas is terrified by his controlled manner.

Friday 30th: Chas is barely holding it together as Aaron leaves for work acting as though nothing is wrong. Paddy sits Aaron down and insists that he is going to talk to him, but Aaron is not receptive and Chas worries it will make things worse. Chas feels helpless after Paddy has talked to Aaron, who still refuses to stop self-harming. Chas clings to Aaron when he takes a knife off her after she threatens to harm herself.

These scenes air from Monday 26th September, weeknights at 7pm, ITV1.

Monday 12th: Aaron’s agitated by Sean hanging round, while Chas is pleased when she discovers that Aaron is going back to college.

Tuesday 13th: Aaron turns up early to help the Bartons on the farm. Chas is reassured by Diane’s words when she thinks that Aaron is doing well. Soon afterwards, Aaron heads out to visit Jackson’s grave to see the headstone, which has just been put up. His feelings of grief, pain and anger are clear when he takes them out on the punch-bag. Later, Aaron tries to hide his blood-stained hands from Adam when he calls at the garage.

Wednesday 14th: Although Aaron seems to be convincing everyone that he is okay, he snaps at Holly, which concerns her. At the garage, Aaron is close to losing it with Sean and his own rage shakes him, but Rachel soon apologises to him over her nephew’s behaviour.

Later, on a rare boys’ night out together, Adam and Alex give Aaron some space when they bump into Flynn, but Aaron finds it difficult to talk to his ex. When the others have left, Flynn is out of his depth when Aaron reveals the true extent of his self-loathing.

Thursday 15th (7pm): Aaron is exhausted and running on empty, but still turns up to help at the farm before work. When Adam questions Aaron about how he ended the night out with Flynn, Aaron snaps. Moira is concerned that Aaron is pushing himself too hard, while Paddy can also see that Aaron is dead on his feet. At the pub, Chas is worried about Aaron’s aggressive tone towards Sean. But later at the garage, things get more serious when Aaron collapses after chasing Sean, who has run off with the garage cash tin.

Thursday 15th (8pm): Sean rushes to the pub and announces that Aaron has collapsed. The mechanic’s loved ones come to the scene, but Aaron has gone. As the search begins for Aaron, he is seen stumbling along the road by Zak and Sam, who take him home. With Aaron found, Paddy takes Chas to him, but Aaron makes her feel rejected. Later, alone at the Dingles’, Aaron sees a knife and picks it up. When Sam returns to the house, he finds Aaron in surprisingly good spirits. As Aaron throws him a beer, he glances down at himself and covers up the traces of blood starting to show through his shirt…

Friday 16th: Zak is hopeful about his ideas for helping Aaron but Chas continues to worry. Aaron feels that he’s not wanted at the Bartons’ when he heads there for work but they tell him they’re concerned about him working too hard after his collapse. He realises Chas has phoned ahead to explain what happened. Later, Aaron is riled when he sees the punch bag has been taken away and Zak explains that he’s moved it to the Homestead. Despite Aaron acting fine about their interference, Chas knows he’s unhappy about it.

Monday 29th: Bob offers Hazel some hours in the café as the builders arrive to start work on Dale Head.

Tuesday 30th: Hazel is under strain as she tries to get on with things in her new job. Later, when Rachel asks Bob for a job in the café, he tells her that they’ve recruited Hazel.

Wednesday 31st: Bob wants Hazel to have something to look forward to.

Thursday 1st (7pm): Hazel’s touched when Bob offers to lend her the money to go travelling, leaving Brenda unimpressed. Frustrated with Brenda’s moaning, Hazel quits her job and takes Bob up on his offer, excited at the prospect of going away.

Thursday 1st (8pm): Hazel tells Aaron that she’s going away for a while and fights back tears as she goes.

Friday 2nd: Zak offers to help Chas with Aaron.

Monday 5th (Hour-Long): When Zak witnesses Aaron fly off the handle while fixing a car, he reckons he knows what to do to sort him out – he’s going to fix up his old punch bag so Aaron can take out his anger on it. Later, Zak catches Aaron hitting the punch bag on his own and knows he’s made an impression. Zak tells Aaron that he’s not the only one going through a difficult time at the moment and he should look out for others, just like they have been looking after him.

Tuesday 6th: No episode.

Wednesday 7th (Hour-Long): Chas worries for Aaron when she realises he left the house at dawn, and her concerns are heightened further when she discovers he’s not at work either. When Chas sees the punch bag, she’s not impressed – worrying about what Aaron will turn into. At Jackson’s grave, Aaron is wrestling with his feelings while a concerned Ashley offers him words of comfort. Aaron wonders if Jackson would have felt differently a few months on as he scrapes his knuckles along a gravestone to relieve himself of the emotional pain. Later while at work, Aaron hides his grazed knuckles from Cain and enjoys time with Zak on the punch bag as Chas watches on. In the pub, Chas and Zak spot Aaron’s knuckles, but he blames it on using the punch bag with no gloves. Putting his sore hand in disinfectant, Aaron holds it there to let the pain block everything else out…

Thursday 8th (One Episode): Chas urges Cain to trust Aaron again. Later, Chas asks Paddy to speak to Aaron about college.

Friday 9th: Everyone is keen for Aaron to return to college for his mechanics course.

Monday 8th: Aaron tries to make a fresh start by moving into The Woolpack following his not guilty verdict – but he’s still wrestling with his demons and remains on a self-destructive path. From the outset, Diane is unhappy that Chas has allowed Aaron to move in, as a share in the pub’s accommodation wasn’t part of the original deal when the feisty brunette bought into the business. To make matters worse, it’s not long until Aaron is at the centre of drama at the bar when he fronts up to Carl threateningly, continuing their long-running war. Chas stays loyal by sticking up for Aaron during the row, but Diane is in no mood for the mechanic’s behaviour and orders him to get out. Still angry later, Diane gets tough with Chas and tells her that the arrangement isn’t going to work out and Aaron has to go. As Chas worries over her son’s future, Aaron’s erratic behaviour is only just beginning…

Tuesday 9th: Chas is terrified that Aaron’s going to lose the roof over his head. She fights for a few day’s grace from Diane, but when Aaron flies off the handle it’s too much for Diane. Later, Aaron has another go at Carl resulting in Diane throwing him out of the pub while giving Chas an ultimatum. Aaron tells Diane that it doesn’t matter as he’s leaving tonight. Aaron then breaks into Mill Cottage, smashing things up. Carl and Jimmy rush to stop and restrain him, before Carl makes a phone call, telling Aaron that he’s calling the police. But actually, he calls Chas…

Wednesday 10th: Chas tries to talk to Aaron about the break-in but gets nowhere. Aaron is then left conflicted when Hazel brings Jackson’s things for him to look through. Later, he is sent home from work, unable to do his job as he has a cut hand. As the day continues, Chas finds Aaron running scalding water over his cut hand and it’s clear that he wants to hurt himself even more.

In the pub, Carl tries to wind Aaron up about the burglary by threatening to call the police, and Aaron is tipped over the edge. The ensuing argument results Aaron trying to grab Diane. and Hazel slapping Aaron around the face when he pronounces them both murderers. Once the working day is over, Diane tells Chas that she must take control of Aaron but softens towards her when Chas breaks down in tears.

Thursday 11th (7pm): Diane suggests that Aaron should get counselling, but Chas doesn’t get her hopes up. Chas and Carl argue about Aaron and she tips the dregs of a pint over him, but is rocked when he tells her that Aaron doesn’t have much of a chance with a mum like her. Later, Chas goes to talk to Aaron at work and gets in the car with him. However, Aaron is angry and begins to drive recklessly. As he gets more emotional, Chas grabs the hand brake. Aaron loses control of the vehicle and the car swerves off the road into a ditch.

Thursday 11th (8pm): The car and Aaron are both a complete wreck. Cain rushes to the scene of the accident, but what state will he find Chas and Aaron in?

Friday 12th: Aaron struggles to re-gain control.
